In order to strengthen social entrepreneurs and drive social innovations forward with the necessary vigor, a working group on social entrepreneurship was formed in December 2016 under the umbrella of the Bundesverband Deutsche Startups e.V. (BVDS). In June 2017, these stakeholders founded the Social Entrepreneurship Netzwerk Deutschland e.V. (Social Entrepreneurship Network Germany).

In Germany, technological innovations are promoted on a broad basis – social and societal innovations are largely left to their own devices. This must change. Germany should and can once again take a leading position when it comes to finding groundbreaking, systemic solutions to problems facing society as a whole.

In order to strengthen social entrepreneurs and drive social innovations forward with the necessary vigour, a working group on social innovation was formed in December 2016 under the umbrella of the Bundesverband Deutsche Startups e.V. (BVDS). In June 2017, these stakeholders founded the Social Entrepreneurship Netzwerk Deutschland e.V. (Social Entrepreneurship Network Germany). In September 2017, thanks to a successful crowdfunding campaign, we were able to start building a powerful network.
