Dispensa Solidale recovers food products that are still suitable for consumption, which would otherwise be wasted or thrown away by companies in the sector (supermarkets, dairies, farms, fruit and vegetable shops, bars, restaurants, school canteens, pastry shops, catering companies) and thanks to suitably trained technical staff, it prepares and packages them. The food is then delivered at home to needy families, who have been identified in collaboration with the social services of the participating municipalities.

The Dispensa Solidale service also wants to involve families in paths of autonomy and social reintegration, to try to overcome the moment of crisis and difficulty. In fact, the distribution of food becomes an opportunity for listening and discussion with families, through which to identify the reasons for the inconvenience and possible ways out.

1. The recovery of food surpluses from company canteens, cooking centers, large retailers or other donors, followed by the preparation of portions at the laboratory and daily distribution to the families identified in collaboration with the social services of the municipalities that the charitable and welfare services of the local communities participate in the project.
2. Building relationships through home distribution, which becomes an opportunity for listening and interacting with families, to identify the reasons for the inconvenience and possible ways out by accompanying users on paths of autonomy and social reintegration.
3. Activation of small microprojects to support and enhance families to allow them to emerge from the situation of hardship and re-enter autonomy paths. Through the construction of networks with parish listening centers, social services, third sector associations, educational realities and available companies, we walk together with the family who is visited daily for food delivery.
