The main purpose of the Up-ornik association is to help alleviate the social hardships of the most vulnerable groups in Podravje region in Slovenia – to help families with children, the elderly, through long-term cooperation with other organizations, institutions.

Project “Because we care”: association Up-ornik has established a long-term cooperation with for-profit company Mikro+Polo, d.o.o. The main purpose of collaboration is to help alleviate the social hardships of the most vulnerable groups in our region – families with children, the elderly, through long-term cooperation. The beginning of the cooperation was the wish of the director of Mikro + Polo, mr Marko Podgornik Verdev in 2016, that the food that remained in the company’s kitchen would not end up in the trash. He looked for mr Boris Krabonja and they agreed that we would issue coupons to the association, with which their association’s users would be able to get all the food that remains undistributed on a daily basis. When the UP-ornik association was founded soon after, the cooperation officially began. Mikro + Polo responded in all difficult financial situations and contributed the difference that was needed for UP-ornik, when funds were collected for specific purpose or pesron.
